Javier and I just got back from Paris where we had a meeting at UNESCO HQ in the afternoon and the charity auction of Lee Cooper 100 at Drouot Montaigne in the evening. After a reception where free champagne was flowing, the actual auction took place in front of a very mixed audience of artists, bidders, charity workers, Lee Cooper employees, TV crews & other media, plus some curious people who must have enjoyed the proceedings, as the presentation was very funny, with half naked body builders and some extremely goodlooking models wearing or carrying the artworks.
We made a piece too: a huge flag of 5 by 4 meter made of a patchwork of denim that was then spray-painted with the slogan 'Bring Safe Sexy Back', that went very well with my t-shirt, as you can see on the picture.
The highest bid was for a brand new Landrover with seats covered in denim-colored leather and all 39 pieces on offer found a new home, with a hopefully happy new owner. All funds raised went to the Red Cross France and Designers against AIDS and we thank everyone who helped making this project a success.
