As a socially responsible organisation, here at DAA we always try our best to be more and more eco-friendly, because it's a known fact that world resources are limited and we cannot keep on exploiting and wasting them. This can also apply, of course, to the world of fashion: producing eco-friendly clothes means you take steps to respect the environment, but actually it's not only a matter of ecology...We have decided to work closely with respectful producers, making sure they stick to Fair Trade conditions and provide their workers with high social standards. Because when we talk about cotton workers we're talking first of all about human beings (find out more at http://www.sense-organics.com).
For this reason, we do really take pride in being mentioned in Eco Fashion, a new book ‘about good design that gives back'. Its author, Sass Brown, strongly believes in sustainable design which doesn't necessarily need to be poor or dull.
The main idea is that we can wear eco-friendly fashion and still be dernier cri! What else could you expect from your (daily/weekly/monthly) shopping session? Brown's book explores all major trends and tells the stories that lie behind them- and 4 pages of this book have been granted to Designers against AIDS and our fruitful collaboration with H&M.
