On June 25th Antwerp's vice mayor and alderman of Tourism Philip Heylen came to visit the DAA Education Center in Deurne with a delegation of international journalists who were in town for the IGLTA Convention and Antwerp Pride. The DAA team and the first students made a presentation and received the 80+ strong group in the newly renovated building and showed them around the student rooms. Speeches were held by Mr Heylen, Antwerp Pride's director Bart Abeel and DAA members Sandra Deakin (our DAA Ambassador for Belgium), Steffi Tisson, Michael James O'Brien and Ninette Murk.
The students showed our guests the work that they made in the last months, including a HIV prevention installation for Mano Mundo and Antwerp Pride that was admired by all. We plan to move our offices over the summer and can't wait to get started in our new house!
