Today Wednesday May 9 at 1 PM we will open our second Pop Up Shop –this time housed in Antwerp’s amazing City Hall on Grote Markt!
The space will feature a shop selling clothes, underwear and accessories from the DAA collections and from collaborations with for instance Katharine Hamnett, Véronique Branquinho for Delvaux, Marc Jacobs for Playboy, Fashion against AIDS with H&M, DAA by JBC, books, pins and of course condoms. There will also be a Bali Corner, where we will sell clothes, jewelry, interior objects and other things made in Bali to benefit Bali Kids, a foundation that cares for children orphaned, infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS in Bali, Indonesia.
100% of the proceeds from the fashion sales will go to benefit our International HIV/AIDS Awareness Centre, a center that hosts students from all over the world and teaches them how to set up successful HIV prevention and awareness programs themselves, using pop culture just like DAA does. Flemish and international students who are currently participating in our spring workshops will be running the store and thinking up events to promote it and tell the public why raising awareness about HIV is still very important.
In the adjacent space there’s an exhibition of the different campaigns and projects that DAA has done over the years; we will also be doing special events in that space and on Grote Markt over the next six weeks, so watch this space or rather, our website: www.designersagainstaids.com
We invite you and your friends to come visit us, browse our shelves and support our cause!
