We know candy isn’t healthy for your body but who would’ve thought it could be funny too? During the 1970s and 80s AYDS took over the world, no not the illness that we’re fighting, but the diet candy… The butterscotch, chocolate and other flavoured candy are supposed to help you lose weight, as says their slogan ‘Helps you take off weight and helps you keep it off’. That AIDS, yes the illness, could keep off your weight is certain, but let’s just say it is not a healthy way of dieting. This made the ‘AYDS-epidemic’ go down rapidly, since the irony of this slogan was unmistakable. What was the reaction of the producers, you ask? ‘AIDS is the one that sucks, so they’re the ones that should change their name’. Well if we could do something about AIDS, let’s just say it would not be changing it’s name, but kicking its butt out of this world! After a while the irony turned into a tragedy for the AYDS company, so they decided to change the name after all. After considering every possibility, they came up with: ‘AYDS: not the disease’ Joke’s on you, my friend!
