World Aids Day is the ‘Christmas' of HIV prevention, so on the 1st of December it was impossible for us to stay at home. The DAA Team went out to Meir, the big shopping street of Antwerp and we were full of energy! And let us tell you, Antwerp was crowded with shoppers that day. Perfect for us of course, since our goal was to distribute our self-designed flyers and to talk to people about our new campaign with JBC and the importance of safe sex! While we were there, JBC had organized that Saint Nicolas and his helpers were at the JBC shop on the Meir the same day for the children, so we thought: let's get creative! We asked them to hand out ‘presents' to the grown-ups too (their parents and even grand parents), namely our red ribbons and flyers. And they were happy to join the fight against AIDS, as you can see in the picture! I would say it was a successful day. From normal pedestrians to street musicians to even the shop assistants, almost everybody was willing to make a statement that day by wearing the red ribbon!
